Shore Based Maintenance Contracts
The GMDSS regulation recommends the shipowners to have full and integral support from specialized companies to keep the integrity of its GMDSS communication and safety equipment, for such a corresponding agreement known as Shore-Based Maintenance (SBM) guarantees that an authorized and technically capable company be responsible for taking care of your GMDSS systems. In many countries, such as Brazil, the SBM is mandatory.
Belga Marine is authorized to issue SBM for Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) equipment and and/or for airspace communication equipment (SBM EPTA).
