The Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) is an internationally agreed-upon set of safety procedures, types of equipment, and communication protocols used to increase safety and make it easier to rescue distressed ships, boats and aircraft.
GMDSS generally consists of: INMARSAT/Mini C, MF/HF SSB (Telex), Radio VHF Class A – DSC, Navtex and Radio Telephones. We can also provide various add-ons such as aeronautical radios and satellite communication devices.
Besides communicating with external players, it is mandatory that a vessel hosts a great capability of communicating internally, with numerous crew members in different parts of the vessel.
